Shalini Namuduri

  

 

Shalini began her Carnatic music journey at age 4 under her mother, Dr. Smt. Savitha Namuduri, later training with Sri Delhi P. Sunder Rajan in vocal and violin. She has won competitions like Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana and debuted as a Carnatic vocalist in 2019. She has since performed solo and as an accompanist in the US and India and was named a Saptami Fellow in 2022. She has accompanied her mother and out Director, Smt. Savitha Namuduri for several arangetrams and concerts in both USA and India for several prestigious venues such as Naadaneerajanam, Maarga, Hamsadhwani and Sadguru Thyagaraja Samithi, Guntur

Alongside Carnatic music, Shalini trained in Western Classical Violin from age 6, performing with the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra and UC Berkeley Symphony Orchestra, where she was assistant concertmaster. She has performed as a soloist with the McKinney Philharmonic and arranged music for her Guru’s Cradle Cantata.

A UC Berkeley Bioengineering graduate, she is current pursuing Engineering Medicine at Texas A&M Houston.

Poojitha Kommera

  Poojitha Kommera has been learning Carnatic music since the age of 4 and is fortunate to have trained under the tutelage of Dr. Savitha Namuduri for over a decade. Over the years, she has taken part in several Saptami competitions and given performances for IFAA DFW and BYOM Margazhi. She completed her formal debut performance in 2022. Additionally, Poojitha has performed at various cultural events across the DFW metroplex, continuing to refine her skills as a vocalist. She is currently pursuing Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas and is passionate about coding and painting in addition to singing. She also teaches younger students in Surabhi Music Academy the basics of Carnatic music. Poojitha aspires to continue her music journey and guide others through theirs. 

Ananya Karthik

 

Kum. Ananya Karthik is a student of Surabhi Music Academy. She has been learning Carnatic vocal music for the past fifteen years. Of this duration, she has been mentored by Smt. Savitha Namuduri for over a decade. Through Surabhi Music Academy, Ananya has gained many opportunities to learn and improve her chosen art. She has participated in numerous singing competitions and performances such as Sapatmi and Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana. She completed her formal debut performance in 2024. Throughout high school, Ananya has also learned about musical theory through Sampada, which is a program in affiliation with Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University. Through this esteemed program, she has earned Senior Certification with Distinction. Ananya also teaches the basics of Carnatic music to younger students. She is pursuing Bachelors in  Biology at the University of Texas at Dallas. In her free time, Ananya enjoys reading, playing tennis, and spending time with her friends and family. She is excited to continue her musical journey under the guidance of her Guru, Smt. Savitha Namuduri.

SaiNidhi Addanki

Nidhi Addanki began learning Carnatic music at the age of six, as one of the first students of Smt. Dr. M.V. Kamala Ramani in Hyderabad, India. Under her teacher’s guidance, she gave numerous performances, participated in various competitions, and successfully passed Carnatic music exams in Hyderabad (equivalent to SAMPADA in the USA).

In 2007, she moved to the U.S., where she continued learning online and actively participated in local events in Houston. Having recently moved to Dallas, she feels fortunate to have found Surabhi, where she can continue her Carnatic music journey under the guidance of Smt. Dr. Savitha Namuduri.

She enjoys teaching young children and hopes to inspire in them a love for music.

Sriram Valiveti

Sriram has been learning Carnatic vocal music since the age of six. He trained in Hyderabad under Smt. Sundari Janakiraman until the age of eighteen and resumed lessons from 21 to 22. After moving to the U.S., he continues his musical journey under the guidance of Smt. Savitha Namuduri from September 2024. Sriram completed three years of the 6 year course in Carnatic music - Sangeetha Visarada from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University. Sriram has performed at numerous venues in Hyderabad and participated in prestigious competitions. With a deep passion for preserving and sharing Carnatic music, he continues to explore and grow under Smt. Savitha's mentorship at Surabhi Music Academy. Sriram is a University of Florida CS graduate and works as a SDE at Oracle.

Shilpa Namuduri

Shilpa Namuduri started singing in second grade and began learning dance in fifth grade. She participated in Saptami Foundation competitions, Papanasam Sivan competitions, and performed at multiple venues, including the Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival. Since middle school, she’s also been teaching singing, sharing her passion with others. Now, as a junior at Independence High School, she continues to grow as a performer and artist.

Nethra Karthik

Kum. Nethra Karthik has been learning Carnatic Music under the tutelage of Smt. Savitha Namuduri from the age of 5. She is a current junior at Flower Mound High School. She’s a member of the Jaguar Chorale choir at her school, and has completed all four years of Carnatic Music exams SAMPADA of Siliconandhra. Nethra is also learning piano and is an intermediate pianist. In her free time, she likes to draw, crochet, read books, and spend time with her friends and family. She is very committed to learning, improving, and honing her music skills.

Paavani Pattaswamy

 Kum. Paavani Pattaswamy began her Carnatic music journey at the age of six under the guidance of Dr. Rajalakshmi Sudheendra, a Bangalore University Doctoral awardee from the esteemed Chintalapalli music family. After mastering the basics, she joined Surabhi Music Academy, Frisco, TX, under the tutelage of  Smt. Savitha Namuduri. For the past five years, under Smt. Savitha Namuduri’s guidance, Paavani has been honing her skills in complex varnams, diverse kritis, and various forms of Manodharma. She has actively participated in several local events, including Saptami, IFAA DFW, KSHT, and BYOM, showcasing her dedication to the art form. Carnatic music is close to her heart, and she is passionate about deepening her journey in it. She is a junior at Frisco High School (FHS) in Frisco, TX. 

Priyanka Kadiyala

 Priyanka Kadiyala has been a lifelong music enthusiast and has been a student of Surabhi Music Academy from April of 2023 onwards. Under the guidance of Smt. Savitha Namuduri, she is happy to be teaching carnatic music to youngsters and to the young at heart.

Shobhita Ramasamy Sundararajan

Shobhita Ramasamy Sundararajan has been learning Carnatic music since the age of four. Since moving to Texas in 2022, she continues learning under the tutelage of Smt. Savitha Namuduri. Before her move to Texas, she started performing in annual CMAKC concerts in Kansas, and now performs in various events for IFAA and cultural events in the DFW area including the annual Papanasam Sivan competition. Shobhita also teaches the basics of Carnatic music to younger students, sharing her passion for the art form with them. She is a sophomore majoring in biomedical engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas. In her free time, Shobhita enjoys reading, listening to classical orchestras, and spending time with her friends and family.
